HydroHomie

After our first four phases at Flatiron School, it was finally time to create a solo project that highlighted our skills in development. For phase 5 I had decided to create a water tracking app that was designed to be minimalistic and therefore only tracks water intake. There were definitely many hurdles to get to a "working" version of the app, but in the end I am proud of what I made and see myself further improving the website even after the end of the bootcamp.

Hydrohomie uses React for its frontend and Flask for its backend infrastructure. My idea for this water tracking app came from my countless hours in front of a computer screen. I had noticed that because I was so immersed in coding for these long hours everyday, I would often forget to keep hydrated and by the end of the day, I would have constant headaches. I wanted to make an app that would solely track the amount of water I have drank in a day and show me my progress during a given month or so.

In the end, I did have to end up putting in a lot of fake data for my application to look substantial to the audience I was presenting to at Flatiron, but I have no doubt in my mind that given time, I could implement these features. I am still quite proud of how far my cohort has came and am excited for the future.
